“There was a man who made a living selling balloons at a fair. He had all colors of balloons, including red, yellow, blue, and green. Whenever business was slow, he would release a helium-filled balloon into the air and when the children saw it go up, they all wanted to buy one. They would come up to him, buy a balloon, and his sales would go up again. He continued this process all day. One day, he felt someone tugging at his jacket. He turned around and saw a little boy who asked, “If you release a black balloon, would that also fly?” Moved by the boy’s concern, the man replied with empathy, “Son, it is not the color of the balloon, it is what is inside that makes it go up.”
The same thing applies to our lives. It is what is inside that counts. The thing inside of us that makes us go up is our -attitude. The foundation of success regardless of your chosen field, is attitude. If attitude is such a critical factor in success, shouldn’t you examine your attitude toward life and ask how your attitude will affect your goals?
Our attitude determines how we react to adversity, our ability to grow and to learn, our ability to overcome challenges, and create bonds with others. And our attitude as it is now is the product of a lifetime of instilled beliefs. Attitude, then, can either help us along or stand in our way. An easy way to look at attitude is to use the glass half-full versus glass half-empty analogy. The volume of water is the same in the glass, but the positive person – the one with the optimistic attitude – sees it as a glass half-full. The individual with a sour outlook, who only sees the negative in life, views it as half-empty.
Your attitude to life, determines your altitude.
How far you can go in life is the result of how you take life.
Keep Smiling 🙂
